Fantastic review Simon. A good movie is not necessarily one I like. It is one that moves me, disturbs me, excites me and makes me feel alive. I recall viewing Irreversible for the first time. That droning sound in the Rectum club almost made me sick, let alone the visuals. I cannot say I liked the film though I enjoyed watching it. I imagine Antibirth will be a similar experience.
Too many movies are too safe in this modern era. We need film-makers like Danny Perez to shake us out of our complacency.

Loved this review and am now going to watch this film this weekend. This is the second or third time Simon has inspired me to go out and track down a film. I have yet to be disappointed.

This review is really too kind. It's a mediocre body horror flick that's elevated somewhat by the three lead actresses. They all give much better performances than the movie deserves. The good performances made me think that it might go somewhere interesting, but it never did.

Really like your perspective, great review! But I'm not sure I thought the movie went anywhere.... at all.... and it had so much potential (not to mention the awful CG smoke). Still, original piece of work to say the least.

Love films made in locales that appear to have never seen the eye of a camera lens, and as I watched during the end credits, I saw indeed this was filmed in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. "Antibirth" is a film that almost defies description. Such a unique, peculiar voice. I also saw part "Rosemary's Baby," but have to throw in "The River's Edge," "Liquid Sky" and David Cronenberg. I don't guess I was too familiar with Natasha Lyonne before this film, but her performance is equal parts hilarious, heart-breaking and monstrous. For her still to come off as appealing makes it one of the best performances of the year. Cult classic in the making.
